DAY 7: Cross

Day 7

CROSS

Luke 9:23

Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

CROSS is the art of creating opportunity; the moment a player lifts the ball from one side of the field to the heart of the danger zone, opening the way for victory. In football, a cross is intention-al, accurate, and visionary. It requires seeing beyond obstacles and delivering hope into a place of possibility. In life, God calls us to the same posture: to cross from comfort into courage, from fear into faith, from limitation into purpose, and to lift others into places they could not reach on their own.

A great cross begins with vision. The player sees a teammate making a run long before the crowd notices. Likewise, life demands spiritual sight; a heart that recognizes God’s direction even when circumstances are unclear. You trust His leading, move with His timing, and deliver what He has placed in your hands with purpose. “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18).

Crossing requires accuracy. The ball must be placed precisely; too short, too long, too high, or too low and the opportunity is lost. In life, accuracy is your alignment with God’s Word and Spirit. You speak with wisdom, act with intention, and make deci-sions rooted in truth. “ln all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:6).

A cross is also an act of generosity. The one who crosses is rarely the one who scores, yet their contribution is essential. In life, God calls you to lift others; mentoring, encouraging, praying, giving, and opening doors. You use your gifts to set up someone else’s breakthrough. “Look not only to your own interests but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4).

Crossing sometimes means going wide before going forward. A player may step away from the center to create space. In your journey, God may take you on paths that seem indirect, training seasons, wilderness moments, unexpected detours. Yet every step shapes you for greater impact. “He leads me along right paths for His name’s sake” (Psalm 23:3).

A well-timed cross can break a defense completely open. In life, the right action at the right moment; an encouraging word, a bold decision, a timely prayer, a sacrificial act can open break-throughs that seemed impossible. God positions you to deliver impact where it matters most. “For such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14).

Ultimately, CROSS is also a reminder of the greatest truth: victory in life comes because Jesus Himself carried the Cross. He crossed from heaven to earth, from glory into sacrifice, so we could cross from death to life, from sin to salvation, from broken-ness to redemption. 11He took up our cross. and by His wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).

So, CROSS with vision, CROSS with purpose, CROSS with generosity. Lift the ball. Open the way. Create opportunity. Because every meaningful cross you make becomes a pathway for someone’s breakthrough, and a moment where God’s purpose moves powerfully forward.

PRAYER

Jesus, help me carry my CROSS daily and follow You wholeheartedly.
