President John Dramani Mahama, represented by his envoy Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, praised the Bible Society of Ghana for its remarkable role in shaping the nation’s moral and democratic values. He emphasized the importance of the Society’s six decades of Bible translation, distribution, and literacy promotion, which have left a lasting legacy ¹ ².
The President called for renewed commitment from all sectors to work together for peace, integrity, and sustainable development. He stressed that the principles of justice, compassion, and integrity found in Scripture are indispensable for national development ¹.
The anniversary celebration was a testament to the Bible Society of Ghana’s dedication to making God’s Word accessible to all Ghanaians. The Society has translated the Bible into 11 major Ghanaian languages, and its outreach programs, such as Trauma Healing and Literacy initiatives, have had a profound impact on communities across the country ³ ⁴.
As Ghana looks to the future, the Bible Society of Ghana remains committed to revitalizing its ministry for greater impact.
